Alte Reben Blaufränkisch

Silvia Heinrich - Alte Reben Blaufränkisch 2019

The Blaufränkisch Alte Reben comes from the oldest vines in
the Alte Weingebirge vineyards of Deutschkreutz. A limestone slab extends under a sandy layer of clay, which gives the wine its elegant structure and finesse.

Planted by our ancestors, they are a valuable treasure today. Not only are the grapes smaller, fuller, more intense and finer, they also adapt to the natural conditions over time. The Blaufränkisch is correspondingly multifaceted and profound.

In the manual harvest, we were strictly selected despite the low yield. The mash was fermented open in small barrels with manual pigeage. The wine then rested in the 1800 litre Manhartsberg oak casks for just under four years. Just as the grandparents used to do, puristic and instinctive.

Charming, but not flattering, playful but not kitschy, profound but not serious. Elegant, lively and multi-layered. „Old vines“ combines structure, ripe fruit and character of origin and promises great ripening potential.
